   About the Merseyside W.F.A

The Merseyside branch of the WFA was formed 24 years ago. Its catchment area covers Merseyside plus the adjacent parts of Lancashire, Cheshire and North Wales.

The branch meetings are held at the T.A. Centre in Harrowby Road, Birkenhead, Wirral usually on the first Thursday of the month (see speaker page).

Meetings are held in a friendly and informal atmosphere and are open to all WFA members. (For details on joining the Western Front Association, please click here)

Our branch enjoys close links with the local regiments and museums in the area.  We have also supported various local endeavours to perpetuate the memory of the those involved in the Great War.

This has ranged from financial contributions through to the major task of placing a permanent memorial to the Liverpool Pals Battalions in Montauban on the Somme.

Recent activities by members have included guided visits to nearby military museums. We have also provided a branch stall at various local and family history fairs throughout the area.
